Baoding, Hebei, China - September 6, 2026 - A 1000A primary current injection tester for CT turn ratio, switchgear commissioning, and breaker trip timing. True RMS readout, timer, and dual protection.
A primary current injection test set is not a relay programmer. It forces a known high current through the real primary path so you can see whether the current transformer, the secondary wiring, and the trip circuit still match the drawings.
Secondary injection has a job. It is faster when you only need to prove pickup, curves, and logic. It will not catch a CT on the wrong tap, reversed polarity, an open secondary, or a loose joint on the bus. Those faults stay hidden until current actually flows on the primary. That is why crews still run a Primary Injection Test during switchgear commissioning, after a CT swap, and after protection wiring changes.
For most indoor CTs and LV/MV breaker work, a 1000A primary current injection tester is the size that ends up in the van. The HZ-109S is built for that duty. An ARM chip holds the output. A high-capacity toroidal transformer gives you either 1000 A at 5 V or 500 A at 10 V. Use the 1000 A tap when the loop is short. Switch to 500 A / 10 V when the leads are long and the voltage drop starts to eat the current. Supply is ordinary AC 220 V, 50/60 Hz, so you are not hunting for a three-phase feeder just to check a ratio.

The LCD is what people actually watch. Primary current (0–1100 A, 0.1 A), secondary current (0–6 A, 0.001 A), and the calculated turn ratio sit on one screen. You do not need a second clamp and a notebook while the current is up. Measurement is true RMS, 0.5 %. That is enough for field CT ratio checks. A stopwatch input (0.0001–999.99 s) times breaker or relay actuation when the potential contact closes, which is the usual way to confirm trip time on a primary injection shot.
Two other details matter on site. Dual protection — electronic overload plus a software limit — dumps the output if the loop is shorted or the operator over-ranges. The aluminum case with a PC panel is 430 × 260 × 260 mm and about 28 kg: one box, not a control unit plus a separate loading transformer.
Use it for CT turn ratio tests, high-current contact checks, and other jobs that need a controlled AC current plus a timer. Full 1000 A is a short run, not a temperature-rise heat run. For that you need a larger injector. For ratio, wiring, and trip-time work on 1000 A class gear, this is the kit most teams actually carry.
